Young Artists Award in cooperation with prima la musica
The promotion of young musicians is a special concern of the Wiener Symphoniker. In cooperation with the youth music competition prima la musica, they award exceptional musical talents between the ages of 14 and 19 with the WSY Talent Award every season, and invite them to perform together on stage.
Together with the Wiener Symphoniker the finalists then work on a solo piece with orchestral accompaniment, and play it with the orchestra in a public concert.
We thank you for the support:
George Wm. Hamilton
Dr.in Alice Ludwig
Winfried Kallinger
Mag. Peter Jedlicka
Mag. Almuth Graf

From "living room to living room" - during the coronavirus pandemic, the Wiener Symphoniker have shown that you don't need a packed concert hall to offer your audience a musical treat. In the popular online concerts, long-time companions stood at the podium as well as newcomers who are now regular guests - whether at home in Vienna or on tour.
Joe Hisaishi, a living legend of film music, conducted the Wiener Symphoniker in the sold-out Golden Hall of the Musikverein. In addition to his second symphony, the programme included some of his most famous film scores, including the symphonic suite from "Princess Mononoke".
The Orchestra
Innovative concerts by the Wiener Symphoniker
A concert hall can be anywhere: in a pub, in a cage or on the Kaiserwiese in front of the Giant Ferris Wheel! No orchestra is as deeply rooted in Vienna as the Wiener Symphoniker - as demonstrated by its unusual concert formats and venues.
Just in time for the end of school, the Wiener Symphoniker invite you to a summer open-air concert for the whole family in the Vienna Prater.
At the Beisl concerts, various ensembles of the Wiener Symphoniker perform on one evening in many pubs in a street or neighbourhood and present themselves in a cosy atmosphere - without tailcoats, but with lots of music!
The perfect way to get in the mood for the weekend starts at seven on Fridays. The concert in the Great Hall of the Wiener Konzerthaus is followed by a relaxed musical finale in the Grand Foyer - the evening's artists playing chamber music or improvising jazz.
For their Grätzl concerts, the Wiener Symphoniker leave their traditional venues in the city centre and come to their audiences at new and unusual concert venues on the outskirts of Vienna.
For the concerts in the "Im Klang" series, the Wiener Symphoniker leave their place on the podium and form up in the empty parterre of the Great hall. The audience is invited to mingle with the musicians in order to sit in the middle of the orchestra, in the middle of "the sound".
At the Käfig concerts, the Wiener Symphoniker, in cooperation with the cultural association ARGE Henriette, transforms Vienna's football and play cages into a creative stage for the entire neighbourhood community. More at www.kaefigkonzerte.at
