Intimate Bruckner and voluptuous rupture

with Marie Jacquot and María Dueñas

It could hardly be more intimate: the Wiener Symphoniker's Principal Guest Conductor Marie Jacquot will conduct the Adagio from Anton Bruckner's 7th Symphony - in a version for brass as it was played at the composer's funeral service in Vienna's Karlskirche, also performed by a Wiener Symphoniker ensemble at the time. Also on the programme is Max Bruch's Violin Concerto with the Spanish violinist María Dueñas, with whom the Symphoniker have already recorded the very successful album with Beethoven's Violin Concerto. Johannes Brahms' Piano Quartet can also be heard in the version for large orchestra. An indulgent evening with historical reminiscences.
