Management

The following position is to be filled preferably at the earliest possible date:

Head of Artistic Operations (m/f/d)

Under the direction of the intendant, the incumbent moderates and develops the planning and realisation of the Wiener Symphoniker's varied concert programme and thus plays a decisive role in shaping the orchestra's profile. We are looking for a highly qualified, communicative and organisationally strong personality with strategic vision and business management skills for this responsible position.

Your area of responsibility

  • Artistic planning and scheduling of all performances and own events as well as tours in close cooperation with the intendant
  • Personnel and budget responsibility for the artistic operations office and music education department
  • Close collaboration with cooperation partners such as the Bregenz Festival, the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde Wien, the MusikTheater an der Wien and the Wiener Konzerthausgesellschaft
  • Contact with artists and artist agencies 
  • Negotiation of artist contracts
  • Planning and coordination of media productions (TV and radio)
  • Coordination of artistic planning in the artistic operations office and coordination and communication of all decisions necessary for rehearsals and performances with all internal departments
  • Organising changes to production operations at short notice; taking on performance duties at events

Your profile

  • Several years of relevant professional experience in artistic programme planning
  • Very good knowledge of the orchestral repertoire and orchestral operations
  • Management experience is an advantage
  • Excellent network of contacts with artists and agencies
  • Sound knowledge of national and international concert organisers
  • Experience in working with databases (preferably Evis) and experienced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) 
  • Confident use of written and spoken German and English; further foreign language skills an advantage
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends with on-call duty 

Salary: 
This permanent position is for a full-time position (all in) with a gross annual salary of € 78,000. Depending on qualifications and experience, there is a willingness to overpay.
