New and touching

The Wiener Symphoniker with a world premiere by Marcus Nigsch and Tchaikovsky

The 125-year history of the Wiener Symphoniker is also a musical history of world premieres. The orchestra has premiered works by Anton Bruckner and Arnold Schönberg. Even today, we still ask about the composers of our time. Marcus Nigsch performed as a pop singer under the name "Marque", while at the same time composing classical works such as semi-operas, musical comedies and film music. Now he is performing the world premiere of his cello concerto, in which Nigsch combines emotion and innovation. Kian Soltani is the soloist, Patrick Hahn the conductor. Also on the programme: Tchaikovsky's lively 5th Symphony and Michael Glinka's overture to "Russia and Ludmilla".
