On April 13, the first Spring Festival of the Wiener Symphoniker came to a close in Trieste. With three concerts at the Politeama Rossetti and an afternoon full of chamber music performances in the heart of Trieste, the orchestra of the city of Vienna thrilled audiences. More than 3,900 visitors attended the concerts conducted by Chief Conductor Petr Popelka. ORF III broadcast the festival’s spectacular closing concert last Sunday during prime time!

Schönberg's ‘Gurre-Lieder’ at the Musikverein, his personal inaugural programme at the Wiener Konzerthaus, the opening concert at the Theater an der Wien and the ‘kick-off’ to the Strauss year: Petr Popelka's first season as Chief Conductor of the Wiener Symphoniker has already brought top-class concerts. The next season milestones have recently followed with the Asian tour and our new spring festival in Trieste.
