Grätzl concerts in the Remise

Grätzl concerts in the Remise

on 2 and 3 May at the Wiener Linien Transport Museum

23. April 2024

Horn hängt auf einer alten Wiener Straßenbahn

Jazzy opera arrangements between old Viennese trams: This season, the Wiener Symphoniker's Grätzl concerts are back at the Remise, Wiener Linien's transport museum.

Last year, the Johann Strauss Ensemble brought the memorable walls to life with a sold-out concert. This time, the Vienna Symphony Jazz Project will be playing opera classics by Verdi, Puccini, Tchaikovsky, Ravel and Bernstein in arrangements by their percussionist Flip Pesendorfer on two sold-out evenings.

"To make music accessible to everyone": the Wiener Symphoniker were founded in 1900 with this mission, and it continues to fulfil this tradition to this day. The Grätzl concerts are part of a series of innovative concert formats, from the Beisl concerts to the Prater Picnic, with which the orchestra actively reaches out to the residents of Vienna.

In the anniversary season 24-25 there will again be Grätzl concerts in the Remise. Dates to follow!

Tip: concert subscription at the Wien Museum

Every year, the Wiener Symphoniker's chamber music series promises chamber music at special venues in Vienna and will be making a guest appearance at the Wien Museum next season. The concerts are already available as subscriptions! More about chamber music at the Wien Museum
