The most important information about the Prater Picnic
Where exactly does the Prater Picnic take place?
The concert takes place on the Kaiserwiese in front of the main entrance to the Wurstelprater - a two-minute walk from the Praterstern underground and S-Bahn station.
What is the best way to travel?
We recommend travelling by public transport. There is a pay and display car park in Ausstellungsstraße. Otherwise, parking spaces in the surrounding area are rare and the bicycle stands may be very busy.
Admission to the Prater Picnic is free. Can I just go there?
5,000 visitors are allowed on the grounds. Admission is at 17:00. The first 5,000 people will be admitted to the concert area. The concert starts at 19:30.
Who can I take to the Prater Picnic?
The Prater Picnic is suitable for all age groups. Due to the limited space available, we recommend that families with small children choose baby carriers or other transport options instead of pushchairs. Dogs must stay at home.
What can I bring to the Prater Picnic?
All visitors are invited to bring their own picnic blankets and filled picnic baskets. Picnic blankets and drinks can also be purchased on site. (Camping) chairs and other furniture as well as umbrellas are not permitted.
What happens in case of bad weather?
The concert will also take place in unfavourable weather conditions. If the weather forecast is favourable, please take rain protection with you to be on the safe side. We recommend rain ponchos. Umbrellas are not permitted.
What infrastructure is available on site?
As with any large public event, there are toilet containers. You can purchase picnic blankets, T-shirts, caps and much more at the Vienna Symphony stand. You can also take advantage of the Prater's catering facilities!
What payment options are available?
You can pay in cash or by debit or credit card.
Is there a platform for visitors with disabilities?
Yes, the platform is located near the Red Cross tent.
I have found or lost something on the premises. What can I do?
Please hand in your lost property at the Prater Information Centre (at the entrance to the Giant Ferris Wheel Square). To get your lost items back, please contact the Vienna Lost Property Office on the following telephone number +43 1 4000-8091 or via e-mail at fundservice@ma48.wien.gv.at.
Will the concert be broadcast on television?
The concert on 28 June will be broadcast on ORF 2 on the same day. Afterwards, the concert will be available on the ORF TV-Thek.
