A concert hall can be anything: A pub, a cage or the Kaiserwiese in front of the Giant Ferris Wheel! No orchestra is as deeply rooted in Vienna as the Wiener Symphoniker. This is demonstrated by their unusual venues. In September, the orchestra's musicians transform a municipal football cage into a stage. And following the great success of last season, chamber music ensembles from the Wiener Symphoniker will be travelling through the city's pubs again this year. This time, the Karmeliterviertel is the setting for the chamber concert tour - without any tails. And on the last day of school in summer, it's now traditional to head to the Prater for a musical picnic, conducted by Symphony Orchestra director Petr Popelka in 2025 - as always, admission is free!

If you fancy a concert after work and before the weekend, you are invited to the Fridays@7 series, this time with great guests such as pianist Rudolf Buchbinder, conductors Christoph Eschenbach and Lorenzo Viotti and cellist Sol Gabetta. The "Im Klang" series also promises a unique concert experience: the audience sits in the middle of the orchestra when Lahav Shani conducts Arnold Schoenberg's Pelleas and Melisande - up close, in the midst of the sound. Music cannot get any closer to people than this.
