The prestigious Gramophone magazine has shortlisted the Wiener Symphoniker in the new category “Orchestra of the Year” for one of its renowned Classical Music Award. The winner will be revealed at the Gramophone Classical Music Awards Ceremony on September 13. Voting commences on June 18 and remains open until July 31. To win this prestigious award, we need your vote!

“Now in the care of Philippe Jordan, the ensemble is playing with great style and precision, something that has characterised the first two instalments in their ongoing Beethoven symphony cycle; a very 21st-century blend of tradition and heft with a litheness and flexibility that has cross-pollinated from the period-instrument world”, the magazine explained the nomination. 

Orchestra of the Year will be voted on by Gramophone’s readers and visitors to its website based. Each ensemble will be supported by two or three recordings. Playlists have been made on Spotify, Apple Music and Qobuz for voters to listen to their work. Search for ‘Orchestra2018’.
