In five concerts, the Wiener Symphoniker present the full diversity of their sound with the stars of the classical music world in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein.
Two major choral works span the Wiener Symphoniker cycle at the Musikverein: Haydn's Nelson Mass will be performed with the Singverein der Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde under the baton of Ádám Fischer. In the cycle finale, the Wiener Symphoniker and the Wiener Singverein under the direction of chief conductor Petr Popelka perform Schumann's oratorio Paradise and the Peri in the Golden Hall.
After the turn of the year, Mahler's Seventh Symphony marks another highlight of the season, but the concerts with Lithuanian conductor Giedrė Šlekytė and violist Antoine Tamestit are also eagerly awaited. The programme will be opened by the up-and-coming Austrian pianist Lukas Sternath with Rachmaninov's Fourth Piano Concerto and the Japanese conductor Kazuki Yamada.
