The Wiener Symphoniker in Coco Wasabi Style
The Wiener Symphoniker in Coco Wasabi Style
16. October 2025

For an entire year, Vienna has been celebrating a special anniversary – and now the festivities are culminating in a grand highlight: the Wiener Symphoniker are marking their 125th anniversary with a major birthday concert. To mark the occasion, artist Coco Wasabi has dedicated a tribute to the city’s orchestra that is as playful as it is profound.
At the heart of her anniversary artwork are the musicians of the Wiener Symphoniker together with Chief Conductor Petr Popelka, dressed in concert attire and tails. They embody the spirit of an orchestra that, since its founding in 1900, has been committed to making classical music accessible and tangible for everyone.
Surrounding them is a whimsical scene: a collage of iconic Viennese landmarks and symbolic elements of the city. This creates a dynamic interplay between tradition and innovation – in line with an orchestra that continually explores new musical paths through formats like the Prater-Picnic, the Beisl-Concerts, or the Wiener Advent in St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
With a keen eye for detail and a touch of humor, Coco Wasabi captures the festive spirit: colorful balloons, pink neon lettering, and a lavish cake topped with cherries and whipped cream add cheerful accents, while stylized fireworks lead the eye to the Wiener Symphoniker's anniversary logo.
Coco Wasabi’s anniversary design is more than just a birthday greeting – it’s a visual manifesto: 125 years of the Wiener Symphoniker – rooted in tradition, forward-looking, approachable, and full of life. And like the orchestra itself – always ready to surprise.
Bring a piece of the celebration home with a poster of Coco Wasabi’s distinctive design – available now in the Fanshop of the Wiener Symphoniker.
