Open-air anniversary concert with top line-up - free admission!

21. May 2025

Publikum vor einer Open Air-Bühne

Once again this year, the Wiener Symphoniker will accompany the Viennese into the summer holidays. The open-air concert at the Prater picnic in front of the Ferris wheel has long since become a tradition: a lively programme, good mood and music for everyone!

In the anniversary year of the Wiener Symphoniker, their chief conductor Petr Popelka takes the audience on a journey from Vienna across the big pond: from the second jubilarian Johann Strauss (son) and his Fledermaus and the lusty sounds of the Flying Schnörtzenbrekkers of the Viennese double bass original Georg Breinschmid to the Austrian singer-songwriter Lemo, who will delight the audience with his hits Der Himmel über Wien, Alte Seele and Schwarze Wolken.

On the other side of the Atlantic, singer Thomas Quasthoff awaits us with world hits by Cy Coleman, Ervin Drake and Cole Porter, and soprano Alina Wunderlin with Bernstein's Glitter and be gay.

With the Prater Picnic, the Wiener Symphoniker traditionally celebrate the start of the holidays together with families in Vienna on the last school days before the summer holidays. Admission is free!
