FOR THE FIRST TIME: BEISL CONCERTS OF THE WIENER SYMPHONIKER

IN & AROUND SCHLEIFMÜHLGASSE

08. May 2023

Drei Musiker:innen mit Instrumenten im Wiener Café

In their new format "Beisl-Konzerte", ensembles of the Wiener Symphoniker will be performing in venues in and around Schleifmühlgasse on 16 May from 6 p.m. to present themselves from a different side - with free admission. After an official kickoff in the Kulturraum Neruda at 6 p.m. with the duo Grüner wiads ned, the Wiener Symphoniker invite you to a walking tour around Schleifmühlgasse. 10 ensembles will play three rounds each in 10 Beisln. During the breaks in between, one can change venues according to ones mood. The musicians will perform in a wide variety of formations and genres: from baroque to jazz, German rap, Latin and swing to schrammeln.

For intendant Jan Nast, the Beisl concerts are a further step, to bring the orchestra closer to the Viennese and its audience: "Following our founding idea, we see it as our mission, to make music accessible to all people. The way to the pubs around the Schleifmühlgasse is intended to offer the Viennese an informal first contact or a reunion in a relaxed atmosphere with our musicians."
