Preview: Wiener Advent The Advent Concert In St. Stephen's Cathedral

Wiener Stephansdom
Konzert in einer Kirche

Contemplative, atmospheric and filled with tradition: there is no better place to celebrate Advent in Vienna than St Stephen's Cathedral. The Wiener Symphoniker traditionally performs their Advent concert here, which is broadcast by ORF into living rooms across the country. Once again this year, the programme includes an international, musical winter journey from Mozart to John Williams with an exquisite ensemble.

In addition to the Singverein der Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde, mezzo-soprano Kate Lindsey and soprano Rosa Feola, Stéphane Denève will conduct the Wiener Symphoniker. The Wiener Symphoniker's Advent concert in the heart of Austrian Christianity is probably the best way to get in the mood for the days leading up to Christmas in Vienna.
