Cinema:Sound - Patrick Doyle in concert The Filmmusic Concert Of The Wiener Symphoniker
BETWEEN SHAKESPEARE AND HARRY POTTER
Under the title Cinema:Sound, the Wiener Symphoniker are taking up their long tradition of film music and, together with Tomek Productions, bring a film music legend to Vienna every year to guide the orchestra through their sound worlds.
On 29 January 2026, Scottish composer Patrick Doyle will be conducting the Wiener Symphoniker for the first time. Musically, Patrick Doyle cannot be pigeonholed. His range as a film composer spans all genres: he has composed the film music for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Cinderella, Thor, Sense and Sensibility and many more. In total, Doyle has scored more than 60 films and has received several awards for his work. He was given a special honour in 2023 when he was commissioned to compose the King Charles III Coronation March for the coronation of King Charles III, which was performed during the ceremony in Westminster Abbey.
