Chamber Music of the Wiener Symphoniker

In very special places in the city

Listen to music and see more - that is the motto of the Wiener Symphoniker's exclusive chamber music series. This season, the concerts move to three different venues and revolve around the two anniversaries of Anton Bruckner and Arnold Schönberg.

At the Arnold Schönberg Center, a special exhibition is dedicated to the composer's 150th birthday. The concerts of the HABE Quartet Vienna, which confronts Schönberg's music with Beethoven's string quartet, and the one with violinist Emmanuel Tjeknavorian and musicians of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, who connect Schönberg with Richard Strauss, will be heralded by an exclusive guided tour through this special exhibition.

Three concerts will take place at the Austrian National Library, which in its exhibition Anton Bruckner. The Pious Revolutionary deals with the composer's influence on music history. The Glière Quartet, the Vienna Classical Players and the horn players of the Wiener Symphoniker will present different musical facets of the composer.

Another highlight of the chamber music series is the performance of Schönberg's Pierrot Lunaire, a key work of musical modernism, with violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja at the Wiener Konzerthaus.
