Beisl Concerts 2025

The Karmeliterviertel transforms into a music stage

24. April 2025 Karmeliterviertel

Drei Blechbläser spielen abends auf der Straße

On April 29, it's that time again: the Beisl Concerts of the Wiener Symphoniker are kicking off their third edition! After stops in Schleifmühlgasse and the Servitenviertel, this year ensembles of the orchestra will perform in the cafés, bars, and restaurants of the Karmeliterviertel, inviting everyone to enjoy some musical bar-hopping. Free admission!

The evening kicks off at 6:00 PM at the Karmelitermarkt with the ensemble SymphonikerBlås. Bringing a fresh breeze from the Bohemian-Austrian brass music tradition along with their own arrangements, they’ll set the tone for the night with symphonic soundscapes.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the opening will take place at the Bezirksmuseum Leopoldstadt instead.

After that, it’s time to dive into the neighborhood. Ten venues invite you on a musical journey through classical, jazz, folk, pop, tango, avant-garde, and traditional Viennese Schrammelmusik.

At Café & Bar Einfahrt, the Symphonic Brass Trio brings swing to the stage, playing their way through the American Songbook - from Weill and Bernstein to Queen. Just a few streets away, at Contor, the string quintet Dolby’s Around creates unique soundscapes with improvisations and original compositions, spanning from Tschaikowski to Sting.

At Madai Aperitivobeisl, you’ll encounter kammerfunk - a group that blends violin, cello, clarinet, and accordion to create artistic encounters between Bach, Mahler, and Strauss. The Café & Bar Katscheli becomes the stage for the WSY Jazz Trio and Allegra Tinnefeld, who light up the night with sparkling jazz and pop.

It doesn’t get more Viennese than this: at Schank zum Reichsapfel, the Symphonisches Schrammelquintett plays it the traditional way - with two violins, accordion, contraguitar, and a “picksüßes Hölzl” (a sweet little clarinet, in true Viennese style).

Just a few steps away, at Vinifero Weinbar, classical music meets elegance: Duo Z’Samm enchants the audience with Mozart, Bartók, and Schrammel. Jazz lovers should head to Tachles, where things get exciting: The Flip Philipp Quintet gets the place swinging with their laid-back vibraphone sound. Next door at Café Harvest, Les Lilas bring the good vibes - with guitar, violin, and a generous dose of Django Reinhardt flair.

At Champagne Characters Boutique, the Quintetto Sinfonico lets the world of wind quintets blossom, bridging classical elegance and romantic flair. And at Brendl, dancing is not just allowed - it’s encouraged: the Auris Quartett Wien delivers dance and entertainment music with waltzes, tangos, and ragtime rhythms.

The Beisl Concerts of the Wiener Symphoniker have already become a popular spring highlight for the people of Vienna. Next year, the musical discovery tour will continue in Ottakring.
