Unfortunately, the extraordinary format of the "Wiener Symphoniker@ 7" series has to be adapted this season due to the current situation in connection with the corona virus. The traditional ending in the large foyer as part of the concerts is not allowed due to reasons of distance. Therefore the respective programs are partially adapted. In addition, all concerts in the series do not start until 7.30 p.m. until further notice. In addition, for scheduling reasons, a subscription date must be postponed: The concert, which was originally planned for May 21, 2021, will now take place on September 8, 2020. This shift also results in a change in the cast and program. On Tuesday, September 8th, 2020, you can now expect Rudolf Buchinder as the soloist and the conductor Daniel Harding with works by Schumann and R. Strauss.
The four dates of the cycle can optionally be extended by a further concert. In addition to popular repertoire masterpieces such as Debussy's "La Mer" and Mussorgsky’s "Pictures at an Exhibition", the public can also look forward to discoveries. Andrés Orozco-Estrada, together with the Montenegrin guitarist Miloš, will be giving one of the central concerts for classical guitar and orchestra a listen to Joaquin Rodrigo's “Concierto de Aranjuez” at the final summer concert.
