WSY-Talent 2023 with Emmanuel Tjeknavorian

The Wiener Symphoniker's young talent award with prima la musica.


What would the great orchestras of today be without the musicians of tomorrow? Promoting young talent is very important to Wiener Symphoniker. In cooperation with prima la musica youth music competition, they award the WSY-Talent young talent prize every year and invite exceptional musical talents between the ages of 14 and 19 to join them on stage to make music together.

The WSY-Talent 2023 is announced for orchestral instruments such as flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba and percussion. The selection process considers results of prima la musica state competition, the 2023 national competition and an application video.

On the podium: Emmanuel Tjeknavorian

This year, for the first time, the Austrian conductor and violinist Emmanuel Tjeknavorian will conduct the WSY Talent Concert. The prize winners will work together with him and the orchestra on a solo piece and perform it in a public concert at the ORF Radiokulturhaus on October 15, 2023. New: This time, the prizewinners will also be allowed to play an orchestral piece in the orchestra.
