Concerts with Lahav Shani in the Wiener Konzerthaus

After the acclaimed first concerts following the reopening of the Viennese concert halls in June, we are very happy to announce another highlight in this special concert summer: On July 8th, the Principal Guest Conductor Lahav Shani will step up to the orchestra's podium.

The designated Chief Conductor of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, who is also celebrated as a concert pianist, can be experienced on this occasion as a chamber musician. Together with the First Concert Master Sophie Heinrich and the First Solo Cellist Christoph Stradner, Shani will play Rachmaninow’s First Piano Trio before moving to the conductor's desk to conduct works by Modest Mussorgski. In addition to the "Morning Mood on the Moskva River" from the prelude to the opera "Khovanshchina", the Wiener Symphoniker will play Maurice Ravel’s masterful orchestration of the popular "Pictures at an Exhibition".

In order to enable as many music enthusiasts as possible to enjoy a live concert despite the reduced seats, the program will sound a second time at 8:30 p.m.
