Info

The Piano Concert G, K. 453 was after K. 449 the second concert Mozart wrote for his highly-talented student Barbara Ployer. Like in the first case Mozart was again anxious to maintain the exclusive character of the composition and sent it to his father with the remark: “and by the way, do not give it to anyone as I wrote it for Miss Ployer who paid me very well”. In an era where any protection by copyright for intellectual property was nearly unknown Mozart´s interest in a careful handling of his productions is easy to understand. The Piano Concert in B flat, K. 456is a “straggler” of the year 1784 which was with six concerts Mozart´s most productive one in this genre. Style reveals influences of Johann Schobert and Johann Christian Bach.
