Info

The Wiener Konzerthaus was the setting for a very special concert event, which took place as part of the Wiener Festwochen in Juni 2003. Rudolf Buchbinder and the Wiener Symphoniker performed in one single day all five of Beethoven´s piano concertos. The cyclical performance of all five concertos offers listeners the opportunity to experience in concentrated form the development of the genre, which is closely connected with Beethoven´s own pianistic achievements. During the course of the performance it was possible to observe particularly well how the relationship between the orchestra and the solo instrument gradually changed, developed into a true partnership. A musical adventure.
