Info
“Frühling in Wien [Springtime in Vienna]”, the TV Easter concert of the Wiener Symphoniker, has been one of the most important highlights in Vienna’s concert schedule for more than 40 years. There, with notable guests of worldwide renown and a bouquet of lively melodies, the Wiener Symphoniker drive out winter and heralds the coming of the colourful new season in a most impressive manner. Over the decades, many international conductors and soloists have stood on stage together with the Wiener Symphoniker to welcome the new and warmer season: There was also Manfred Honeck, a close and long-time companion of the Wiener Symphoniker, directing the concerts as early as 2016 (which by the way can be heard on a CD released under the Orchestra’s label). Back then as well as today, Viennese composers took centre stage in the musical events.
