Info
The term “classical”, when used not as a catch-all for any of the music of the concert hall but to describe a particular era of musical history, is especially associated with three composers: Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven. These giants of classicism are indelibly linked with Vienna, which is why the term Wiener Klassik, or the First Viennese School, has become established as the name of this epoch. The most important living proponent of the legendary Wiener Klassik is without a doubt Rudolf Buchbinder. His recordings of piano works by Mozart and, in particular, Haydn and Beethoven have been positively swamped with international prizes; his interpretations are regarded by many as unequalled and his performances are sold out worldwide. In these three concerts he now presents once more the rich heritage of Vienna, city of music.
