The gala Festkonzerte-cycle provides an opportunity for the Wiener Symphoniker to celebrate the major holidays of the year with dazzlingprogramme highlights. On offer is a diverse programme that unites festive celebrations with masterpieces by Bach, Brahms, Mozart, and Richard Strauss.

The Wiener Symphoniker will celebrate Austrian National Day under the expert direction of Francois-Xavier Roth, whose programme includes the premiere of a new work by the award-winning Austrian composer, Johannes-Maria Staud, among others.

With Philippe Jordan on the podium, the rousing joyfulness and infectious optimism of Bach’s Christmas Oratorio will put listeners in a holiday mood. The Wiener Symphoniker’s traditional, televised Easter concert, "Frühling in Wien" ("Springtime in Vienna"), will again take place at the Vienna Musikverein. We invite you to join the Janoska Ensemble and Adam Fischer for a musical journey along the Danube. The Wiener Symphoniker’s summertime festival concert brings the series to a close. Titled "Heroic Deeds", this concert is devoted to the works of Richard Strauss, and features two of the composer’s great epic tone poems, Don Quixote and Ein Heldenleben.
