Concerts with a plus for young listeners
Enjoy mornings at the Wiener Konzerthaus together with your children or grandchildren. While the adults attend both parts of the concert in the Great Hall, younger listeners are introduced to the music of the second half in the Vorhören! series by the Konzerthaus’s music educators. Through stories about the works’ origins, explorations of musical ideas and insights into the lives of the composers, they are prepared for what they will hear.
In the second half, you can then experience the great symphonic classics together: Beethoven’s heroic Eroica Symphony (Riccardo Minasi), Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 with its beautiful Adagietto (Petr Popelka), Antonín Dvořák’s From the New World Symphony (Tianyi Lu), and Edward Elgar’s enigmatic Enigma Variations (Tabita Berglund).
For adults, the programme also includes Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 25 with Lise de la Salle, Mahler’s Des Knaben Wunderhorn with Andrè Schuen, and Benjamin Britten’s Cello Concerto with Julia Hagen.
