In the forthcoming season the Wiener Symphoniker series in the Wiener Konzerthaus’ Great Hall will consist again of ten concerts. The Czech conductor Tomaš Netopil opens the series with music from his native land. On the programme are Dvořak’s Sixth Symphony, paired with the composer’s Te Deum, a large-scale hymn of praise. Francois-Xavier Roth will conduct Brahms’ Violin Concerto with soloist Julian Rachlin in a programme that includes Schumann’s great Romantic portrait of the soul, his Second Symphony.

One of today’s most celebrated pianists, Daniil Trifonov, will provide a virtuoso interpretation of Schumann’s Piano Concerto, which many consider the most beautiful of the genre. You will have several opportunities to experience our chief conductor Philippe Jordan in this series as well. In addition to Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, he will conduct a Beethoven programme that, among other things, includes the Third Symphony.

Additional programme highlights include world-renowned soloists like Martin Grubinger, Gautier Capuçon and Emanuel Ax.
