Info
“As far as virtuosity, intensity, phrasing, tone colour and deep musical understanding are concerned: there is nothing lacking in Emmanuel Tjeknavorian”, the British critic Robert Matthew-Walker commented on the young Viennese violinist Emmanuel Tjeknavorian. Since his debut with the Wiener Symphoniker in 2017, Tjeknavorian is well on his way to rising from successful young talent – he was awarded the second place at the Jean Sibelius Violin Competition in 2015 – through to darling of the international audience. He recently gave guest performances in the best European concert halls as a “rising star”, published his first CD, and now there is even a particular cycle at the Vienna Musikverein concert hall bearing his name. Together with the Wiener Symphoniker, he will interpret Camille Saint-Saëns’ Violin Concerto No. 3, once described as a “gem” by Pablo de Sarasate, the outstanding violinist of the 19th century. The concerts, further including Lili Boulanger’s symphonic poem “D’un matin de printemps” and Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5, will be directed by the French conductor Alain Altinoglu, an always welcome guest on the podium of the Wiener Symphoniker.
