Petr Popelka, Chief Conductor of the Wiener Symphoniker since 2024, is deeply committed to chamber music. The program for the concert celebrating Arnold Schönberg's birthday will feature Mozart's Dissonance Quartet. This piece, often cited by Schöberg, is complemented by his own Opus 10, whose final movement evokes the "air of another planet" through the addition of a vocal part. Christina Bock will also perform the world premiere of Petr Popelka's composition Dunkelsang with Popelka himself playing the piano.
