Info
"It always wonderful to witness a conductor and an orchestra working together so well that the orchestra becomes collective: better yet, it becomes one being that almost fuses with the conductor", wrote Austrian newspaper Der Standard in their review of the Wiener Symphoniker's most recent concert with Estonian-born Paavo. It will be wonderful once again when the conductor returns with a programme so perfectly designed for the strengths and versatility of the Wiener Symphoniker. This will begin with an Austrian debut of an orchestral work by Erkki-Sven Tüür, chosen by Järvi, who is making his name as one of the most distinguished Estonian contemporary composers. Mozart’s outstanding Jeunehomme-piano concerto - with the wonderful Lars Vogt as soloist - will take us back to the Wiener Klassik, with Strauss' opulent Symphonic Poem, one of the great milestones of the late romantic, ending the concert. Please note: This concert is presented as part of a cooperation between the Wiener Symphoniker and the Wiener Konzerthaus Society.
