Quintetto Sinfonico / Farkas, Danzi, Ibert, Ravel, Ligeti

Horizontal Tabs

Info
The wind quintet was "invented" as a musical genre in the early nineteenth century as a counterpart to the already-popular string quartet, when Franz Danzi and Anton Reicha wrote whole series of works for the form. The programming of the internationally successful Quintetto Sinfonico provides an exciting journey across the whole fascinating breadth of the quintet repertoire: from arrangements of classical works via original compositions from the Romantic era through to famous quintets from the twentieth century, for example by Györgi Ligeti, Jacques Ibert and Maurice Ravel.
